Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has sent out a strong message after it was confirmed that the Premier League will be suspended, as quoted by the club’s official website.
What did he say?
The Premier League, FA, EFL and WSL have collectively decided to halt the professional game in England until 4th April, as has been confirmed on the Premier League website.
This has led to Klopp providing a statement, which included him saying: “I’ve said before that football always seems the most important of the least important things. Today, football and football matches really aren’t important at all.
“Of course, we don’t want to play in front of an empty stadium and we don’t want games or competitions suspended, but if doing so helps one individual stay healthy – just one – we do it no questions asked.
“If it’s a choice between football and the good of the wider society, it’s no contest. Really, it isn’t.”

Strong message
This is a strong message from the German, at a time that will have been incredibly frustrating for him, as well as his players and staff.
That stance comes after they lost their unbeaten run against Watford, before being knocked out of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.
Considering these circumstances, Liverpool will have been keen to wrap up the league title as quickly as possible, with their lead currently standing at 25 points.
Can you name the result these iconic Liverpool images belong to? Give it a go now…
However, this has put the brakes on that, but as Klopp mentions in his statement, the safety of everybody involved in the game is far more important than the football itself at this stage.
They will now be looking to ensure that they are healthy and in the best position possible to finish the league campaign strongly when play eventually presumes.
Meanwhile, one Liverpool man has been absolutely slated.
