The Verdict: Be careful
Things are certainly going well for Rangers at the moment, and with them having a chance of reaching the Champions League group stages, they may need a bit of investment to put themselves in the best possible position to do so. However, the 55-time Scottish champions must be careful not to put themselves in difficulty financially.
Less than 10 years ago, the Gers went into administration (BBC) and were demoted to the fourth tier of Scottish football as a result. It has taken them a considerable amount of time to return to the pinnacle of the domestic game – now they are there, they must make sure they do not put themselves in peril again.
