The BCCI said that it was now upto Harbhajan to choose a convenientdate for the operation.Anant Joshi, the BCCI doctor, and finger surgeon Sudhir Warrier, took aclose look at the injured finger after an MRI scan and x-rays at theLeelawati Hospital in Mumbai. The two doctors concurred that it was bestthat Harbhajan travel to Sinai Hospital at Baltimore, America – the sameplace where Sachin Tendulkar underwent surgery on a similar finger injury.Dr Dror Paley is expected to perform the operation.Harbhajan’s injury first came to light during India’s tour of New Zealand,just prior to the World Cup. Although he played through the World Cupdespite the pain, Harbhajan has not recovered sufficiently even after anextended break.
